I started blogging under the alias Man on my first blog, ManVsLoneliness. I had just gotten my heart broken by a woman I thought I was crazy about and was ‘The One’. For a year I posted about my feelings and experiences getting over the breakup, reflecting on my relationship with love and what I was looking for in a relationship and a person, and just sharing my passions like food, movies, music, and martial arts. I took a year-long hiatus from dating to reassess everything I thought I knew and wanted and change my philosophy on love.
At the end of the year I revealed myself, my name and my identity. My name is Jerel, and I am a 27 year old corporate trainer living in New Jersey. I love travel, food, movies, music, martial arts, and video games among many other things. But these are the ones I usually like to write the most about. That and of course, dating and love and romance and all those wonderful things.
And now after a year I am still just as eager and enthusiastic about love, but I think I’m going about it healthier, wiser, and stronger. I’m no longer VsLoneliness, I’m just a SingleGuy. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how to live my life as a single guy, no longer holding back and reserving life experiences for when I’m in relationships. So my new blog, SingleGuySays is about learning to live as happily and fully as I can, with or without someone. It will still be about my thoughts, my experiences, my passions, but it’ll also be about trying new things, and often times, things that some people usually do hold back on until they’re with someone, or are just generally too scared/self-conscious/nervous to do on their own.
